Denise Schober, travels around the United States teaching quilting, sewing and designing. When not
working her fulltime job she constantly making art with her sewing machine, weaving looms and quilting
frames. Denise has been sewing for more than 40 years of her life. It is one of her passions and she is
always excited to share her knowledge of quilting and sewing with others.
Denise studied drawing and painting at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Art has always been
one of her first loves. She now translates this use of a pen to the fabric with thread and quilting. Denise
has been quilting since 1986 when she made her first quilt with Nancy a friend who shared the love of
sewing too.
Among Denise’s accomplishments are the many entries in art galleries, quilt show and art shows. She
has appeared as a guest on America Sews with Sue Hausmann, Martha’s Sewing Room with Martha
Pullen and worked with Martha Stewart designing embroidery designs for towels on her television
show. Denise does trunk shows and teaches at numerous shows across the United States and abroad.
Denise lives just north of Ann Arbor, Michigan with her husband Les. Outside of the quilting and sewing
Denise’s interest include: watching movies with Les, auto racing, learning new techniques, skiing both
water and snow.
