We will be making a Christmas pillowcase in this class so that you have either gift it to someone special or have your own dreams of sugarplums this Christmas season. This class is designed for seamstresses who are just starting out or for those who would just like to have a fun time sewing together. For ages 12 to 90 What to bring: - 1 yard of fabric (100% cotton quilting fabric; does not need to be pre-washed) - ? yard of coordinating fabric (100% cotton quilting fabric for the cuff/band at the end of the pillowcase) - Coordinating thread - Sewing machine, cords, foot peddle - Straight pins - Scissors - Seam ripper (just in case) - Measuring device (a hem gauge, ruler, or measuring tape)
This is intended to talk about the basics of Machine Embroidery. If you are wondering or thinking about whether or not machine embroidery is for you, this class should enlighten your thoughts. If you are a sewer, there are many little initials or decorations you can put on clothing, blankets, towels with machine embroidery. If you are a quilter, it is great to be able to create your own labels or special blocks etc. Information will be given about needles, thread, stabilizer, machine differences and hoops.
